El Poblenou

Today was the first day I took photographs for someone’s article while here. Chloe, Maddie and I went to the neighborhood El Poblenou to check out the community created by Urban District, an association aimed at promoting art and creativity in the area. I was luckily able to tag along as Chloe and Maddie investigated what was really going on there.  We explored the area looking for art studios associated with Urban District and was able to interview and photograph Martin Noaksson, who created a store that sells awesome 1950s Scandinavian furniture. The process of taking an idea to the field and exploring it firsthand was very exciting. I enjoyed not knowing what was going to happen and having to adapt to the situation. Also having the excuse of writing an article was a great way to interact with locals to learn and explore the country more.
